Psalms 77

Comfort in Trouble from Recalling God’s Mighty Deeds.

For the choir director;
1 Chr 16:41
according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.

1 My voice rises to God, and I will bcry aloud;
My voice rises to God, and He will hear me.
2In the cday of my trouble I sought the Lord;
dIn the night my ehand was stretched out
Lit and did not grow numb
without weariness;
My soul grefused to be comforted.
3 When I remember God, then I am hdisturbed;
When I isigh, then jmy spirit grows faint.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.
4You have held my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I lcannot speak.
5I have considered the mdays of old,
The years of long ago.
6I will remember my nsong in the night;
I owill meditate with my heart,
And my spirit
Lit searched
ponders:

7Will the Lord qreject forever?
And will He rnever be favorable again?
8Has His slovingkindness ceased forever?
Has His
Lit word
,
upromise come to an end
Lit from generation to generation
forever?
9Has God wforgotten to be gracious,
Or has He in anger
Lit shut up
withdrawn His ycompassion? Selah.
10Then I said, z“It is my
Or infirmity, the years of the right hand of the Most High
grief,
That the abright hand of the Most High has changed.”

11I shall remember the acdeeds of
Heb Yah
the Lord;
Surely I will aeremember Your wonders of old.
12I will afmeditate on all Your work
And muse on Your deeds.
13Your way, O God, is agholy;
ahWhat god is great like our God?
14You are the aiGod who works wonders;
You have ajmade known Your strength among the peoples.
15You have by Your
Lit arm
power alredeemed Your people,
The sons of Jacob and amJoseph. Selah.

16The anwaters saw You, O God;
The waters saw You, they were in anguish;
The deeps also trembled.
17The aoclouds poured out water;
The skies apgave forth a sound;
Your aqarrows
Lit went
flashed here and there.
18The assound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind;
The atlightnings lit up the world;
The auearth trembled and shook.
19Your avway was in the sea
And Your paths in the mighty waters,
And Your footprints may not be known.
20You awled Your people like a flock
By the hand of axMoses and Aaron.
